Mochi donuts are making their mark in Nevada. Discover all the places where you can indulge in this trendy sweet treat in The Silver State.

Mochi donuts combine the soft, chewy texture of Japanese mochi with the sweetness and crispy exterior of a traditional donut. This hybrid dessert has been trending on social media—and popping up in bakeries, cafes, and coffee shops throughout Nevada. Mochi donuts typically consist of eight dough balls shaped into a ring, which then gets fried and coated with toppings and glazes (usually playful, colorful, and perfect for grabbing attention on Instagram).

There are plenty of places in Nevada where you can munch on mochi donuts, and we’ve highlighted the best ones below. Keep reading to discover which Nevada eateries are serving up the state’s best mochi donuts.

1. Yo Mochi

Yo Mochi’s Henderson shop perfectly embodies the fun, playful vibe of mochi donuts. The walls are covered with artwork—mainly cartoon portraits of celebrities like Snoop Dogg—and the space features free retro arcade games and pay-to-play claw machines to keep you entertained while you wait for your food.

The mochi donuts are made fresh daily and come in flavors such as Ube Churro, Strawberry Shortcake, Toffee, and Crème Brûlée. If you get yours to go, they’ll be packaged in a box designed to look like a boombox.

Yo Mochi, which is featured on Yelp’s list of the Best Donut Shops in Every State, also serves malasadas (Portuguese-style donuts), corn dogs, mochi waffles, Vietnamese coffee, and flavored sodas.

“We ordered six different donuts, and to be quite honest—the best mochi donuts I’ve had in town, hands down! … They had [a] great flavor and sweetness level. The outside was crunchy, and the inside was so soft and chewy,” a customer wrote on Yelp

Address: 10271 S. Eastern Avenue, Ste. 116, Henderson

2. Paina Cafe

Poke bowls are the star menu item at Paina Cafe, but the mochi donuts aren’t to be missed either. Mochi donut flavors rotate regularly, but some recent flavors shared on Paina Cafe’s Instagram page include Taro Milk Tea, Oreo Cheesecake, Red Velvet with a cream cheese glaze, Li Hing Pineapple, Strawberry Glazed, Matcha Glazed drizzled with white chocolate, Ube, Chocolate Cheesecake, and Lychee.

The cafe’s interior features island-themed decor in a nod to its original location in Hawaii.

In addition to poke bowls and mochi donuts, Paina Cafe also serves croissants, tarts, musubi, bento boxes, inari sushi, and more.

“Super soft and chewy—perfect level of sweetness. They have different flavor specials each day. My favorite is hands down the Oreo Cheesecake. I don’t typically like sweets, but this was so delicious that I’m still thinking about it. I almost want to drive all the way back from Arizona to get more,” a customer wrote on Yelp.

The flavors vary by location but include plenty of unique options like Strawberry Funnel, Banana Milk, Yuzu, and Milk Pebble.

Mochinut also serves mochinut-balls, which are like donut holes filled with flavored sweet cream, as well as Korean corn dogs, soft serve, and boba tea drinks.

“I popped in to get a donut. I agree it’s more than just a donut. They taste light and airy and chewy. I don’t think I will ever want a traditional donut again,” a reviewer wrote on Yelp

Aware coffee also offers plenty of seasonal drinks, such as winter specials Cookie Butter Tiramisu, Coquito Latte, and Mint Mocha.

“The mochi donut was incredible, and I prefer mochi donuts over other donuts now. The … mochi donut was also the perfect level of sweetness,” a customer wrote on Yelp

Pro tip: Some of the reviews we read noted that the mochi donuts sell out fast, so arrive early to ensure you don’t miss out.

6. Mama Chai’s

Mama Chai’s mochi donuts look a little different than most mochi donuts (instead of eight balls connected to form a ring, they look more like a traditional donut), but their soft, chewy texture is exactly what you’d expect from a mochi donut.

Mama Chai’s has fun with its mochi donut flavors, which change frequently. Some are topped with fruit, others with pistachios or a Lotus Biscoff cookie.

“The Pistachio Yuzu mochi donut was a pleasant surprise! Has the savory pistachio taste plus the sugar yuzu glaze on top. Not too sweet, and the mochi donut part has a good chewy consistency,” a reviewer wrote on Yelp.

The cafe also serves something it calls Mochi Kochi, which are mochi donut holes covered with whipped toppings and fresh fruit, and tanghulu, a traditional Chinese candied treat.

Mama Chai’s space features a cozy patio with fire pits where you can enjoy your mochi donuts and one of the cafe’s many specialty coffee drinks or boba teas.
