Yelp users declared these ten tequila bars the best in all of Las Vegas. Cheers!
While there’s no shortage of bars serving tequila on and off the Las Vegas Strip, some spots take this agave spirit to another level.
There’s a tequila bar hidden in the back of a resort food hall. Another is set beneath 15,000 LED lights. And one of the classiest tequila bars is just a hop, skip, and a jump from a bank of slot machines.
Do have a pinch of salt, a slice of lime, and a sense of adventure? The tequila bars below are the 10 best in Las Vegas, according to Yelp. Salt and lime not required.
1. Ghost Donkey
The Cosmopolitan
Ghost Donkey is a tiny tequila bar, but its creative cocktails pack a mighty punch. A hidden hole-in-the-wall, part of the fun is discovering the venue behind a door marked with a donkey in the Block 16 Urban Food Hall on Level 2 of The Cosmopolitan on the Las Vegas Strip. The bar has a lively atmosphere with vibrant Mexican-themed decor and an extensive selection of mezcal, tequila, beer, and shareable bites like truffle nachos and chips. Since seating is limited to less than 30 people, many Yelpers suggest stopping by early or other off-times. Though the crowd does tend to ebb and flow, you might have to stand (which is easier said than done when drinking tequila).
2. Misterio Mezcal Bar
1300 South Casino Center, #150, Downtown Las Vegas
A bar for discriminating tequila drinkers, Misterio Mezcal Bar caters to the stylish and the sophisticated who seek artisanal, small-batch liquor. Fine mezcal is the star at this bar, and it’s treated with the same attention to detail as fine wine or brandy. Cocktails are crafted from a wide selection of mezcal or tequila, and the bartender is happy to educate you on your choices. Pair your drink with sharable plates like tacos, tostadas, chicken wings, street tacos, and an old-school Vegas favorite, shrimp cocktail. According to Yelpers, happy hour here is legit and packed with great food and drink specials. Also, this cozy downtown establishment is convenient. You can walk in right off the street.
3. Todo Bien
8533 Rozita Lee Ave, #110, UnCommons Las Vegas
All is good at Todo Bien, a comfy tequila bar with a southwestern interior, misted outdoor patio, and handcrafted tiki cocktails. Escape to a tropical paradise that celebrates Mexican culture and the sacred agave plant, developed by the Aztecs into the pacifying alcoholic drink we now know as tequila. There isn’t any food (though there are several places to eat in the UnCommon community) but the extensive menu features an array of cocktails made of top-quality tequila and mezcal. It’s “the perfect medicine,” according to Yelpers who claim that entering dreamy Todo Bien feels like you’ve left Las Vegas — in a good way.
4. Mama Rabbit Mezcal + Tequila Bar
Park MGM
When you step off the casino floor at Park MGM and into the eclectic and colorful Mama Rabbit, you’ll enjoy a tequila or mezcal cocktail from an enormous agave-based spirit selection. Even though there are several drink choices, Yelpers ensure you can’t go wrong with the Mezcal Margarita. A vibrant yet casual party atmosphere with cozy booths and several rooms, Mama Rabbit on the Las Vegas Strip is an ideal locale for a lively night out with friends, a pitstop on the way to dinner, or a nightcap after a show. Thursday nights feature live Latin music (and dance lessons), while Friday and Saturday nights also have live entertainment.
5. CHICA
The Venetian
A modern Mexican cantina in Restaurant Row at The Venetian Resort on the Las Vegas Strip, CHICA is the brainchild of Celebrity Chef Lorena Garcia. Along with a delicious menu of South American cuisine, the restaurant boasts a top-notch mixology program with tequila and mezcal options. Drinks are perfectly paired with brunch or dinner, but they really start flowing during CHICA Nights, a weekend fiesta on Friday and Saturday nights with a late-night menu, DJ, dancing, and bottle service. Yelpers compliment the bartenders at CHICA, who have a wealth of knowledge about mezcal and other spirits. While the food is consistently praised, one Yelper noted, “I would say that the cocktails are the strong point of this restaurant.”
6. Lucky Day
516 Fremont Street, Downtown Las Vegas
Set in a cozy and colorful bar beneath 15,000 LED lights, Lucky Day is a quirky Downtown Las Vegas cantina with a huge reputation for rare mezcals, small-batch tequilas, and signature cocktails. It also overflows with eccentric, eye-catching decor like offbeat artwork and exotic artifacts. Yelpers say the margaritas are out of this world but they especially love the atmosphere and “could not get over how beautiful the lighting was in there.” The bar can get crowded, but service is fast. With live music by Latin house DJs and Mexican Bingo or trivia nights, it can get pretty loud.
7. Mezcla
197 E California Ave, #110, Downtown Las Vegas
Your happiness is the priority at Mezcla Las Vegas, a modern cantina with Latin American and Pacific Islander traditions. Escape south of the border for ceviche and seafood dishes and over 70 different mezcals and tequilas to make you smile. Live music and warm Latin hospitality add to the positive atmosphere. Yelpers consider the restaurant a homerun for Downtown Las Vegas, with one Yelper saying Mezcla served “ the smoothest tequila I have ever had.”
8. Javier’s
Aria Resort
A luxurious restaurant with upscale Mexican food, hand-shaken signature margaritas, and dozens of world-famous tequilas, Javier’s will make you forget you are sitting just steps away from Aria’s casino floor. The intricate architecture and attentive staff add to the classy atmosphere with a slew of the bar’s top-shelf tequilas displayed on the branches of an exquisite, black tequila tree. “The ambiance is like stepping into a Mexican hacienda, complete with vibrant colors and enough tequila to make a cactus blush,” writes one Yelper. “It’s out of this world,” writes another. The Javier’s Las Vegas location is one of five in the U.S. and Mexico.
9. Toca Madera
The Shops at Crystals
Utilizing sustainable, organic ingredients in its dishes and farm-to-glass cocktails, Toca Madera is a chic fine dining restaurant that is meticulous about everything it serves. It’s the little things — like a Watermelon Margarita served with a fresh watermelon slice — showcasing this attention to detail. One Yelper writes that the diverse selection of fine tequilas and mezcals are served with “some of the most Instagram-worthy presentations” they’ve ever seen. Writes another: “Every element of the restaurant has been thoughtfully curated, from the stunning visual design to the enticing music, making it a perfect blend of modernity and timeless elegance.”
10. Màs Por Favor Taqueria y Tequila
3879 Spring Mountain Road, Chinatown
A funky fast-casual Mexican restaurant in Chinatown Las Vegas, Más Por Favor serves tacos and tequilas with a twist. When you enter the taqueria, you’ll find a menu of street tacos made with Mexican and Asian flavors. Proceed through the dimly lit tunnel to discover the offbeat speakeasy with tons of strong tequila cocktails and live entertainment. Yelpers write that the drinks are well-crafted, creative, and delicious. “Great place for a date or group and great for both cocktails and food,” writes another.
