The last day of school for the Clark County School District is May 20, meaning 300,000 students will be home for 103 days of summer break.
Starting May 21 through Aug. 9, Clark County and City of Las Vegas’ community and recreation centers are offering day camps where children and teens can make arts and crafts, play sports, games, and even go on field trips. Some also offer specialized camps focused on tech and 3D printing, and performing arts.
Clark County Day Camp
Nine facilities in unincorporated Clark County, including Desert Breeze Community Center, Paradise Recreation Center, and the new Silverado Ranch Community Center, are offering Day Camp for children from 6 to 12 years old.
Most of the community centers charge $21 per day, per child, and run the day camp Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

City of Las Vegas’ seven community and recreation centers have several summer camp options, including Tot Camp for 3 to 5 year olds — who have not completed kindergarten — Kids Camp for ages 5 to 11, Teen Camp for ages 12 to 14, and a leadership program, Counselor-in-Training, for 15 year olds.
Facilities include, Doolittle Community Center, East Las Vegas Community Center, Mirabelli Community Center, and Veterans Memorial Community Center. What each community center offers may differ, including pricing — which can range from $40 to $200 per week. Summer Day Camps all run from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Additional Camps
The Veterans Memorial Community Center also offers a camp for 11 to 14 year olds who want to become a lifeguard. The Junior Lifeguard Camps are a weeklong training where participants learn lifesaving skills and can earn a junior lifeguard certificate. The $150 camp is offered five times over the summer.
The Ernest & Betty Becker Family Technology and Recreation Park, located at 2221 Maverick St. Las Vegas, NV 89108, has several technology focused weeklong camps for 6 to 14 year olds, from e-sports, to 3D printing and design, to STEAM camp. Each technology camp costs $290 per child.
The West Las Vegas Arts Center is holding a Performing and Visual Arts Summer Camp for youth ages 10 to 15 from June 3 to July 26, focusing on turning the narrative from “Impossible” to “I AM Possible.” The eight-week program costs $400 per youth, but scholarships are available for qualified applicants.
More information and registration for the camps can be found online.
